About Monisha
Monisha applied for the Habitat Homebuyer Program to fulfill her goals and dreams of becoming a successful homeowner. According to Monisha, “home is a solid foundation…it holds an enormous amount of love and peace.” She is from Conway and works at Grande Dunes.
“Becoming a homeowner will affect me and my family in a positive way. Starting with having a safe shelter to call home,” Monisha states. She loves to spend quality time gathering with her family, singing, dancing, eating, and having fun. She loves cookouts and outdoor activities, but her most favorite thing to do is sing.
Like many, Monisha has experienced many ups and downs in life. She is proud to have received a promotion in her job, graduate from college, and becoming a part of the Habitat family. At times when feeling helpless, she has learned that teamwork is very important, and she has come to realize the passion others have for helping others.
One of her favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 which says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and future.”
Her experience earning sweat equity hours has been physically challenging, but educational and fun. She is excited to gain more experience and she completes the program.
“The first thing I would love to do in my new home would be to decorate,” says Monisha. She looks forward to filling the rooms with sparkling and bright colors that will bring joy to her soul. “I am most looking forward to personalizing my home to fit me.”
Monisha has great hope the Homebuyer Program will provide a safe and affordable place to call home, and looks forward to building equity and taking pride in ownership.
