Habitat for Humanity of Horry County was founded in 1990 with the mission to eliminate substandard housing in Horry County, SC by establishing partnerships to build simple, decent and affordable housing and communities together with God’s people in need.

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Horry County brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. The vision of the organization is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Through the establishment of faith, civic and community partnerships, Habitat Horry empowers individuals and neighborhoods through shelter, transforms through education, and inspires through change.

The Habitat business model is one of financial stability. Thanks to the support of our volunteers, construction costs are kept low. We’re able to sell new houses to qualified families for no-profit. Homeowners pay an affordable mortgage and the revenue generated goes right back into our mission. This is also true of all ReStore revenue. Additionally, we depend on the generosity of individual donors, business partners, faith partners, and grantors as funding sources to successfully carry out the mission of Habitat.
