Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is proud to announce it has been awarded a $100,000 grant from Publix Super Market Charities to support the construction of two new single-family homes in Conway, South Carolina. The homes are located in Owens Creek, Habitat’s newest subdivision focused on expanding access to safe, affordable homeownership in Horry County.
The $100,000 grant from Publix Super Market Charities will directly support the construction of these two homes, helping future homeowners build long-term stability through affordable homeownership.
“Publix Super Market Charities continues to be an incredible partner in strengthening communities,” said Rachel Kennon, Assistant Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. “This investment will help two families achieve the dream of homeownership and will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”
Owens Creek represents a major step forward in Habitat for Humanity of Horry County’s efforts to address the growing need for affordable housing in Conway and surrounding areas. Once complete, the subdivision will provide high-quality, energy-efficient homes for families who otherwise could not access traditional housing markets.
Habitat homeowners partner with the organization by completing financial education, contributing sweat equity, and purchasing their homes with affordable mortgages. The support of partners like Publix Super Market Charities makes these opportunities possible.
