We have exciting news! It truly embodies community spirit and empowerment. Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with United Bank. United Bank generously pledged $10,000 to bolster our vital Habitat for Humanity Financial Literacy Program over the next three years. This incredible commitment from United Bank shows their dedication to strengthening families and communities right here in Horry County.
Empowering Futures Through Financial Education
At Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, our mission goes beyond just building homes. We believe in building strength, stability, and self-reliance. Our Habitat for Humanity Financial Literacy Program is a cornerstone of that vision. This program equips future homeowners, current homeowners, and individuals seeking to enhance their financial well-being. Participants learn essential skills. These include budgeting, credit management, debt reduction, and long-term financial planning. They gain the tools they need for sustainable homeownership and a more secure financial future.
Rachel Kennon, Advancement Director for Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, states, “Financial education is key. It breaks the cycle of poverty and ensures families succeed in their homeownership journey.” She adds, “Thanks to United Bank’s incredible generosity and commitment to community, we can continue to provide these vital services. We will help more families thrive.”
A Partnership Built on Community Values
United Bank’s support aligns perfectly with their long-standing dedication to community development and financial empowerment. Jerry Jenerette, United Bank Myrtle Beach Market President, shared his thoughts: “At United Bank, caring for local communities is central to our mission. We continually seek opportunities to give back. We aim to address pressing challenges. We seek to partner with local organizations striving for the same.” He continued, “We are honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. We want to ensure families in our community have the resources they need to build strong financial foundations and brighter futures.”
Expanding Impact Across the Region
This generous pledge will allow Habitat for Humanity of Horry County to significantly expand our financial literacy services. This means more one-on-one financial mentoring, more engaging group workshops, and more crucial credit counseling. Ultimately, these services will benefit hundreds of individuals across the region.
We are incredibly grateful for United Bank’s partnership and their commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors. Together, we are building not just houses, but foundations of financial knowledge and hope that will last for generations.
