About Rochea

Future homeowner, Rochea, is an Horry County native, originally from Conway. Jamari and Jahlani (11 years old and 5 years old) call her mom. She is employed by a local commercial real estate company.

Rochea joined the Habitat homebuyer program in the Fall of 2020. She applied for several reasons. One of her biggest reasons, beyond her dream of homeownership, was for a safer neighborhood and living environment – especially for her children. Rochea joined the program with the hopefulness of “giving my children a sense of freedom, and a sense of what home really means,” she says. “The program will set a positive example for them.”

Rochea has really enjoyed her experience and has learned a great deal while helping to build her future home. “We worked with new people,” she says. “We learned about different techniques that aided us in working on the house. It kept me busy and the time flew.”

The first thing Rochea plans to do when she moves into her home is decorate her children’s rooms.
