Habitat for Humanity of Horry County Dedicates Home of Veteran Prior to Christmas Holiday
Habitat for Humanity of Horry County homeowners, homebuyers, volunteers, staff and gathered for the dedication of Home #160 on Friday, December 17, 2021 in Hopes Crossing. The build was sponsored by the Horry County HOME Consortium.
Habitat Homeowner, Cleya, is an Horry County native, calling Longs home. She is the proud mother of her son DJ. Cleya joined the Habitat homebuyer program in the Fall of 2020.
She moved through the homebuyer program at a successful pace, completing the homebuyer program in just 12 short months! Cleya knows that her family will be more safe and secure, and their overall health will improve.
As a veteran of the Army reserves, Cleya knows the value of hard work, dedication and faith in God. “I want to show my son that anything is possible with the help of the Lord,” Cleya says.
Prior to closing on her home, Cleya noted, “I am looking forward to the day when I can lay my head on my pillow that first night and reminisce on the days I’ve worked for my home…knowing that is was all worth it.”
Cleya is thankful to everyone who has helped her throughout her Habitat journey. “I thank God for allowing you to be able to bless my family in this way”.
Halfway through her Habitat homebuyer journey, Cleya gave us an update on her progress and share what owning her own home would mean to her family.
