We are thrilled to announce that Habitat for Humanity of Horry County has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Angel Award by the South Carolina Secretary of State. This recognition celebrates Habitat Horry County’s commitment to using resources efficiently, empowering local communities, and creating lasting change.
The Angel Award is presented annually to just ten South Carolina nonprofit organizations that exemplify excellence in charitable service. Recipients must use at least 80% of their contributions for program services, demonstrate financial transparency, rely on volunteer efforts, and maintain compliance with the South Carolina Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act.
The Habitat for Humanity of Horry County team could not have achieved this milestone without the unwavering support of the organization’s dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners. It is their generosity and belief in the mission that allows Habitat to provide safe, affordable housing and continue to transform lives across Horry County.
As stewards of this honor, Habitat Horry County remains committed to advancing our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. This recognition is not just an award for Habitat for Humanity of Horry County—it is a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make together.
“The board of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is incredibly grateful to be recognized with the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Angel Award,” states Board President, Sarah Moniz. “We are proud of our long legacy of exceptional governance and stewardship. Our board and administration continue to expand what is possible to designate resources effectively to serve hardworking Horry County families in need of access to homeownership and housing solutions.”
Habitat Horry County thanks all who make this work possible – allowing Habitat to continue to to build even stronger foundations in the years to come!
