Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is proud to announce a generous $300,000 pledge from Sea Captain’s House in support of its historic $1.91 million capital campaign.

This transformational campaign—the largest in Habitat’s history—will fund critical infrastructure development, paving the way for 51 new, safe, and affordable homes across Horry County. These homes will provide crucial housing opportunities for families who are essential to the region’s economic growth and development.

Sea Captain’s House has a long history of supporting Habitat for Humanity over the last 35 years. The late Patricia Brittain played a significant role in the life of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County and served Habitat Homebuyers with a passion as a volunteer. We are thrilled that Sea Captain’s House is continuing their legacy as a top-level supporter in our effort to develop new neighborhoods across Horry County, doubling the numbers of families we serve. Sea Captain House is joining us in building hope. Hope begins with Home!

“The generosity of Sea Captain’s House is a testament to the power of local businesses investing in the heart of their community,” said Meagan Michal, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. “This pledge will help us lay the foundation—both literally and figuratively—for families to build brighter futures. A home provides more than just shelter; it creates stability, opportunity, and hope. Sea Captain’s House understands that when families succeed, our entire community thrives, and we are incredibly grateful for their leadership in this effort.”

With this pledge, Sea Captain’s House joins a growing list of dedicated community partners working alongside Habitat for Humanity to address the increasing need for affordable housing. Their leadership in this effort sets an inspiring example for other businesses and individuals looking to make a meaningful impact.
