On March 23, 2024 Habitat for Humanity of Horry County will kick off Women Build 2024 with the continued support of CRG Homes.

Women Build is an annual project where women from all backgrounds and skill-levels come together to empower each other, join forces, and help a local woman achieve her dream of homeownership. Each year, Women Build harnesses the power of women by raising funds and walls to build a home in partnership with a family in need of safe and affordable housing. Additionally, Women Build offers the opportunity for volunteers to join in bringing attention to the affordable housing needs of the Horry County community and help to build strength and stability.

This year’s Women Build is the 176th home for the organization, founded in 1990. The home is located at 1513 Grainger Road in Conway. Future homeowner, Tierra, is a Community Outreach Navigator with CareTeam Plus. She entered the Homebuyer Program in the Fall of 2022. She was interested in the program after watching others’ success stories. Being able to build her own home while helping others with their home really stuck with her and made her want to do the same.

Tierra looks forward to being able to turn the keys to her own front door for the first time and being able to pull up to the front of the house knowing how hard she worked for it. She also envisions spending quality time with her family together watching movies and having game nights.

Passionate about supporting women like Tierra, CRG Homes joined Women Build in 2023 by matching every dollar given toward the build up to $20,000. They will do the same in 2024. Habitat for Humanity of Horry County is looking for women-led businesses to join arms and donate or sponsor a build day, so this match can be realized.

Habitat for Humanity of Horry County hopes to raise $40,000 for this year’s build. Generous community partners like CRG Homes make Habitat for Humanity of Horry County’s mission and work possible. “We, at CRG, firmly believe in the potential of community, innovation, and progress. As a woman owned construction company, we strive to work with organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Horry County to make a positive impact on the community by tackling the pressing issue of affordable housing” explained Terri Nardslico, CRG’s President.
