Habitat for Humanity of Horry County Announces New Executive Director

Horry County, SC – May 20, 2020 – Habitat for Humanity of Horry County announces that Jason Greene has accepted the position of Executive Director for the organization.

Greene succeeds previous Executive Director, Carla Schuessler, who announced her resignation earlier this year. On June 8, 2020, Greene is set to launch into his new role as Executive Director, in bringing Habitat to the next level of operational and financial maturity. According to Search Committee Member and Board Vice President Dan Sine, “We are excited about what Jason will achieve for our local affiliate. His extensive background in dealing with property management, community associations, construction, strategic planning, human resources, legal policy and fundraising is impressive. But what really drew us to Jason is his genuine passion for helping people. When he speaks, it is clearly from the heart. We are fortunate to have him.”

Greene’s passion for serving people and communities is evident through his many professional, volunteer and non-profit accomplishments. He is a Leadership Grand Strand (LGS) alumni and is committed in staying active in his current volunteer roles. His formal education, business background and involvement in charitable causes combined with an avid concern with linking people with needed resources are central to Greene’s personal mission of being meaningfully engaged in his community and making a difference every day.

As Executive Director, Greene will work closely with Habitat’s twenty-one-member Board of Directors which includes professionals with construction, engineering, finance, real estate, media, marketing, operations and fundraising experience.
