Home #149 Dedication

Habitat for Humanity of Horry County Dedicates Home #149

Habitat for Humanity of Horry County staff, volunteers, homeowners gathered to dedicate home #149 on Saturday, September 5, 2020. The home was sponsored by Bank of America Foundation, Publix Super Markets Charities and Leadership Grand Strand – Class 40.

Homeowner Pamela and her three daughters, LaNiya, Pallas and Promise, were accepted into the Habitat Home Buyer program in October 2016. Pamela applied to Habitat so she could provide a better life for her and her daughters and to finally accomplish her goal of homeownership. Pamela and her daughters currently live in a very overcrowded and expensive home in a high crime area. She wants to ensure that her family has a safe and stable place to call home.

Pamela has lived in Horry County for her whole life and has worked in the food service industry for the past year. She is very close with her wonderful daughters. The oldest, LaNiya, enjoys playing violin, volleyball, and sewing, and the youngest, Pallas, enjoys being her mommy’s little helper, drawing, painting, and crafting. All together, they enjoy baking all kinds of sweet treats. Pamela says that being in the Habitat program has given her a greater sense of the benefits of volunteer work and how it helps others but also how it helps her family become more well-rounded.  She is very grateful and happy to finally be a Habitat homeowner!
