Otega and her two children are finally home. Originally from Charleston, Otega applied to the Habitat Homebuyer Program with the support and encouragement of her mother. When she applied, her goal was to provide her family with a “forever” home.
Perseverance is the word that describes Otega. When she began the homebuyer program, she was pregnant and driving to Charleston to work one of three jobs.
Now that she’s officially a homeowner, Otega looks forward to creating lasting memories with her children, who celebrated dedication day alongside their hardworking mother.
Local news media also attended to help celebrate the important day. She told WMBF News that she hopes to “enjoy life” now that she has a place to call home. “I don’t have to work as hard as I was. Maybe go back to school and get a career, just to better myself even more.”
The sky is the limit for Otega, Emma and Kingston. We can’t wait to see what she’ll accomplish next!
