This groundbreaking also served as the official launch of our capital campaign. Owen’s Creek is the first of two subdivisions included in Habitat’s ambitious $1.91 million capital campaign—the largest in its history—to fund critical infrastructure development. This campaign will pave the way for 51 new, safe, and affordable homes across Horry County. These homes will provide crucial housing opportunities for families who are essential to the region’s economic growth and development.
Organizational staff, board members, supporters, and homebuyers were all in attendance to share their thoughts on the pivotal day. The day was led by Executive Director, Meagan Michal. “Our 35th anniversary is not just a celebration of what we’ve accomplished but a commitment to the future,” states Meagan Michal, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. “Owen’s Creek represents the first step in our bold plan to address the affordable housing crisis in Horry County, ensuring that our growing community has a strong foundation for generations to come.”
The campaign itself has already garnered support from critical partners, including CRG Homes, Sea Captain’s House, Horry County, Bank of America, The Jackson Companies, The EARTHWORKS Group, Inc., Keystone Commercial Realty, and Palmetto Corporation.
