John Farr to Travel 800 Miles at 80 Years Old Supporting Habitat for Humanity

Myrtle Beach, SC Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County’s Bike 2 Build ride recently launched at Habitat for Humanity of Horry County’s ReStore. Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County is located in Du Bois, PA.

80-year-old John Farr will began his 800-mile journey back home on September 24, 2021. He launched his ride at the Habitat for Humanity of Horry County ReStore located at 165 Co-Op Road in Myrtle Beach.

Since 2005, Farr has gone the extra mile to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County. Each year, he’s done a bicycle tour in hopes of inspiring others to join him in building hope in our communities through building homes for those in need. Despite Covid 19, last year’s tour raised a record $23,350.

In 2021, Habitat hopes to raise even more funds to support Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County, with a portion of the funds to be allocated to Habitat for Humanity of Horry County.

“We were so excited to celebrate the launch of John’s historic journey here in Myrtle Beach this year,” states Jason Greene, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County. “Supporters like John are the lifeblood of Habitat and the successful implementation of our mission locally and beyond.”

Farr plans to visit many other Habitat Affiliates along the way to help inspire the mission’s efforts. He plans to complete his journey on October 9, 2021. Track the progress of his ride or donate https://www.bike2build.org/.

“My hope for this year’s Bike 2 Build event is that together we continue to set records for the single purpose that we can help more people,” Farr says. “In return for your generous contribution, I promise to suffer a little, offer a bit of drama, and provide you with a full account of my journey.”
